Sharifa is a dedicated public health professional with a passion for research, advocacy, and education. Born and raised in the Caribbean island of Grenada, her journey has taken her across continents and diverse projects, allowing her to develop a deep understanding of the intricacies of healthcare, particularly in the domains of adolescent health, air quality, and education. Sharifa earned her Master of Science in Medical Anthropology and Sociology with a focus on sexual and reproductive health from the University of Amsterdam. Prior to that, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Anthropology of Health & Medicine, along with a minor in Public Health, at Goucher College. Her academic background and hands-on experience reflect her commitment to making a positive impact on communities through evidence-based practices and culturally sensitive approaches. Outside of her professional pursuits, she finds joy in dance, historical and science fiction literature, exploring new destinations, and learning how to roller skate.
